U5

U5

The U5 visit is an important milestone in your baby's development journey. As your little one continues to grow and learn, it's crucial to make sure they are meeting their developmental milestones and getting the care and support they need to thrive.

During this visit, your doctor will conduct a thorough evaluation of your baby's physical and cognitive development to ensure they are on track. One of the most important aspects of the U5 visit is evaluating your baby's motor skills and mobility. Your doctor will observe your baby's movements and check for any signs of developmental delays or risks. They will also assess your baby's „language“, gross motor, and fine motor skills.

In addition to assessing your baby's physical development, your doctor will also provide you with important information and advice on various topics related to your baby's health and well-being. This may include recommendations for vaccinations, guidance on nutrition and digestion, and tips for preventing sudden infant death. Another important aspect of the U5 visit is oral hygiene. Your doctor may talk to you about how to care for your baby's teeth and gums and may even recommend an early dental screening. This can help detect any potential dental issues early on and ensure your baby's teeth are healthy and strong as they continue to grow.

Overall, the U5 visit is an important opportunity for your doctor to assess your baby's development and provide you with the support and information you need to keep them healthy and happy. By staying on top of your baby's development and working closely with your doctor, you can help your little one reach their full potential and enjoy a happy, healthy childhood.

  • Vitamin D will be recommended to prevent rickets, a bone disease, as will fluoride to promote the hardening of the teeth later in life. As soon as your baby gets their first teeth, you need to start brushing their teeth with toothpaste that contains fluoride. From then on you only give oral vitamin D without fluoride because your baby gets it through the toothpaste. Ask for a new prescription, just for vitamin D, as soon as the first tooth has arrived.

You will get an appointment for the next vaccination and the U6.
