FIRST-AID-KIT FOR CHILDREN

Life is full of unexpected moments that can surprise us. A well-stocked medicine cabinet will contain everything you need to treat your child's cuts and scrapes, rashes, bites, fever, and other ailments.

FIRST-AID-KIT  FOR HOME

Securely store it away from tiny hands and take a moment every six months to give it a once-over, refreshing any items that may have aged or lost their efficacy after your child has grown.

  • Emergency phone numbers

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Skin disinfectant (Octenisept)

  • Thermometer

  • Medications

    • Fever-reducing/Pain-relieving: Ibuprofen, Paracetamol (correct dosis!)

    • Eye drops: Euphrasia*, NaCl 0.9% (e.g., for early conjunctivitis)

    • Blocked nose: NaCl 0.9%, decongestant nasal drops, Angelica balm ("Engelwurz")

    • Cold: Thyme-Myrrh Balm, Tea, Honey for > 1year olds, warm water bottle

    • Stomach pain: Sab Simplex or Lefax*

    • Insect bites/Sunburn: Combudoron Gel*

    • Ointment for diaper bottom

  • First aid materials

    • Scissors

    • Splinter tweezers

    • Plasters and sterile bandages

    • Sterile compresses Gauze bandages

    • Adhesive bandages sterile strips (Steristrip*)

    • Tick card

    • Gel cold compress (store in the refrigerator)

DAILY PLAYGROUND FIRST - AID - KIT

You don't need much - but it can make a significant difference.

Ideally, you should have a little bag with:

​

  • Emergency phone numbers

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Skin disinfectant (Octenisept) - You can fill a smaller spray bottle so you don't have to carry a lot with you

  • 2x sterile compresses (for cleaning)

  • a few plasters in various sizes

  • Sunscreen

  • Tick card (if you live in a high-risk area)

Consult with your pediatrician; they can prescribe certain medications, and many items are available over the counter at the pharmacy.

I always carry this set with me during our travels.

Additionally, I bring the Playground-Set for excursions :)

    • Ointment for diaper bottom

    • Infectosoor Zinksalbe* or similar for fungual Infektion at diaper area

  • First aid materials

    • Small quality scissors

    • Splinter tweezers

    • Plasters and sterile bandages

    • Sterile compresses gauze bandages

    • Adhesive bandages sterile strips (Steristrip*)

    • Small pointed sewing needle (for splinter removal)

  • Sunscreen

  • Insect repellent

  • Tick card

  • Depending on the country: Malaria medication, mosquito net, water disinfectant, antibiotics for severe diarrhea (consultation with a pediatrician advised)
